About the JLPT

The Japanese Language Proficiency Test (日本語能力試験) is the world’s most widely used Japanese language certification, administered twice a year (July & December) by the Japan Foundation. There are five levels: N5 (beginner) to N1 (advanced).

Each level tests vocabulary, grammar, reading, and listening. The mock tests here cover the first three sections — listening requires audio, which you can find in the official JLPT practice workbooks (公式問題集).
