Practice tests that closely follow the official JLPT format — same question types, same section structure, same difficulty level. Work through each section at your own pace, then check your answers.

About the JLPT
The Japanese Language Proficiency Test (日本語能力試験) is the world’s most widely used Japanese language certification, administered twice a year (July & December) by the Japan Foundation. There are five levels: N5 (beginner) to N1 (advanced).
Each level tests vocabulary, grammar, reading, and listening. The mock tests here cover the first three sections — listening requires audio, which you can find in the official JLPT practice workbooks (公式問題集).
| Level | Vocabulary | Grammar | Reading | Listening | Pass mark |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| N5 | ~800 words | Basic patterns | Short texts | Simple | 80/180 |
| N4 | ~1,500 words | Everyday patterns | Medium texts | Everyday | 90/180 |
| N3 | ~3,750 words | Various patterns | Various texts | Various | 95/180 |
| N2 | ~6,000 words | Complex patterns | Complex texts | Complex | 90/180 |
| N1 | ~10,000 words | Advanced patterns | Sophisticated | Advanced | 100/180 |
